Benny the Beaver comic prelim by tymime Benny the Beaver comic prelim by tymime
Went to an "art walk" about a week ago, but there wasn't really anything worth mentioning (mostly identical pop art that felt several generations removed).
But there were two things: CHICANO BATMAN, and some wooden boards that everyone could draw/paint on. I pretty much drew a copy of this.

So now that we're done uploading Toon Patrol studies, I'm pleased to introduce one of our original characters, Benny the Beaver!
He's pretty much your everyman toon, a Mickey Mouse/Porky Pig/Andy Panda type who is nevertheless a hero, happy-go-lucky and musically talented. He also has a girlfriend named Barbera, who's generally chipper, but can be quite a spitfire when riled.
All in all, not too original on paper, but I think my approach to the archetype is distinct and appealing.
Maybe sometime I can upload the story of his animation studio.

(will move to scraps when I finish the final version)

Neat work on this I don't see much characters that are beavers these days.

There a couple other "Benny the Beavers" out there if you look, but they're so darned obscure I didn't think it mattered.

He's so cute! Out of curiosity, is Silver Bell your actual private company? And who are Ramsay and Peterson?

Actually, they're both our own fictional companies. Ramsay-Peterson (named for their founders) is an animation studio, and Silver Bell is the publisher who owned the comic book rights to R-P properties at the time.
Guess I do need to finish the studio's history, huh?

As for our real company, our work is copyrighted under "Flaming Eyeball Productions". XD
