Description

So this is Domino, the white-nosed coati toon. Domino is the star of my most ambitious project, the comic book series Ink Incarnate, currently in development.

Ink Incarnate takes place in the same universe as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, although the characters in it don't ever meet Roger or the weasels (unless I get permission). It follows the life of Domino, drawn by college-zoology-teacher-by-day, jazz-baritone-saxophone-player by night Jeff Patterson Jr. on the night of October 2, 1950.
Domino is named after the unique domino-like markings on his nose (which, unfortunately, you can't quite see here).

Domino is the cheeky, troublemaking sort, inspired by the likes of Bugs Bunny and Groucho Marx- a wisecracking trickster, in other words. His creator Jeff wanted to give his jazz band distinction, and so he drew Domino to join the group- Domino plays bass clarinet.
Domino, despite being a charming ladies-man, is somewhat childish and wide-eyed towards his new surroundings, and tends to act impulsively and cause mischief. He's particularly fond of chocolate and fruit-flavored sodas.
Domino also hides a more sensitive side, concealing his longing for companionship and his fear of death.

Basically, Ink Incarnate is what came of my first visit to Car Toon Spin since my childhood back in 2008- it's my ultimate expression of what I believe the WFRR world is like and how it works, following Domino's dramatic adventures throughout the decades and watching the world change around him. I've got rough outlines for stories, including I think several dozen characters, stretching from the '50s to about 2000.
Ink Incarnate is primarily inspired by WFRR's unique mix of old-school cartooniness and film noir, plus the elements of horror that Car Toon Spin suggests- my plan is to pay tribute to not only cartoons and film noir, but also pulp fiction, horror films and comics, funny animal action adventure, and period camp through the years.

Once I'm finished writing the outlines for the series and start drawing it, I hope to get it published (ideally by DC).
