One thing Ink Incarnate is supposed to do is capture whatever time period the ongoing arc takes place. It's pop culture is reflected in the sort of stories that occur (although that hint of '30s-'40s will always be there), and the social and political history of the time is always given comment, exploring how it might affect a toon and how it reflects on the evolution of cartooning.
