Description
For those you who were curious about the werewolf in my Count Whiteblood Halloween comic ([link]), here he is in plain view- Rackham the werewolf.
This is my first drawing of him, and I like I said before, this design wasn't originally planned to be what Rackham looked like. This guy was just a random werewolf at the time. But since I had already written some narration describing him for Count Whiteblood's book, I thought this drawing was appropriate. I actually don't know what he looks like as a human (if he is human, that is).
Rackham is named after legendary fantasy illustrator Arthur Rackham, who often depicts scenes of eeriness, like twisted trees and gnarly-faced witches.
I always dream of crazy and spooky environments, and this is an example of that, really. The angry moon is a reference to the Zelda game Majora's Mask, which involves a moon slowly plummeting towards the planet for some reason. I actually want the moon hovering over Count Whiteblood's castle to look more like something from an early Betty Boop cartoon, or Georges Méliès' A Trip to the Moon (Le Voyage dans la lune), but I was just playing with a joke from the Homestar Runner cartoon "Doomy Tales of the Macabre".
Isn't he just lovable, folks?
